compensation opportunities. - - -Golf Course Greenskeeper positions
perform a variety of grounds maintenance functions at City-operated
golf courses; mow, aerate, top dress, and drag golf greens; edge,
apply soil amendment and fertilize, overseed and sod; operate and
perform minor maintenance and repair on irrigation systems; lead
the work of assigned workers; drive a pick-up truck to job sites
with equipment and supplies; and perform other duties as assigned.
- - - -NOTES:Eligible benefitted employees originally hired on or
after July 10, 2021, will be automatically enrolled in the San
Diego City Employees Retirement System (SDCERS).
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
You must meet the following requirements on the date you apply,
unless otherwise indicated. -EXPERIENCE: -You must meet ONE of the
following options: -1. Six months of full-time PAID GREENSKEEPING
experience at a GOLF -course. -Qualifying experience MUST include
maintaining, mowing, edging, and fertilizing golf course greens,
aprons, tees, and fairways.2. -One year of full-time PAID
experience in GROUNDS MAINTENANCE work. Qualifying -experience MUST
include mowing, cultivating, and planting lawns, shrubs, trees,
and/or ground covers; or pruning trees and shrubs; or renovating
lawns. - - - - NOTES:Personal gardening and/or unpaid volunteer
work is NOT qualifying.City of San Diego employees using
Out-of-Class Assignment (OCA) experience to qualify must submit
written documentation signed by their appointing authority or
payroll specialist, detailing the work performed, dates, and total
number of qualifying OCA hours. OCA experience without the required
documentation will NOT be considered.LICENSE: -A valid California
Class C Driver License is required at the time of hire. -REQUIRED

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
